UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: For-mer Minister and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Udhampur, Pawan Gupta today inaugurated ‘Diwali Trade Fair-cum-Exhibition-cum-Sale’ in an impressive function here at Town Hall Udhampur.
A large number of prominent citizens and locals of Udhampur were present when MLA inaugurated the trade fair.
The MLA went around all the stalls and inspected the goods displayed by the vendors at the Trade Fair. He showed keen interest and appreciated the efforts of the organizers in organizing such event in the heart of Udhampur town. He hoped that with this trade fair, residents of Udhampur will get the opportunity to purchase world class quality products at their door steps especially during festive seasons.
The items displayed in the trade fair were crockery, kitchenware items, footwear, ready-made garments, toys, lady’s suit, sweaters, jackets, gift items, roti maker Malamine crockery, food stalls and amusement items for kids.
Gupta said such events not only generate employment for the local populace but also give an alternate space to them to go for shopping and spend some time with their families.  Special attraction of the trade fair is antique Saharanpur furniture.
Sachin Sharma, on behalf of event organizers briefed the MLA about the various items displayed in the trade fair by the vendors from various parts of the country.
Meanwhile the MLA also inaugurated a famous street from Bus Stand to Adarsh Colony and district courts. The street was badly damaged and the local shopkeepers were facing problems due to it. They lauded the role of the MLA as the construction of the street was a long pending demand of the people.
