JAMMU, June 17: Pandita Cricket Club (PCC) and International Cricket Club (ICC) registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014, being organized by KC Sports Club and sponsored by KC Motors Jammu at KC Public School ground, here.
Pandita Cricket Club (PCC) defeated Arab Cricket Club in a rain interrupted match on the basis of better run rate. Earlier, batting first, PCC scored a modest total of 131 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Vikas and Sachin contributed 35 and 20 runs to the total respectively. For ACC, Rahul took 5 important wickets.
In reply, ACC scored 72 for the loss of 8 wickets in 12.2 overs, before the interruption of rain and PCC was declared winner on the basis of run rate. Gulshan and Rahul scored 12 runs each. Sachin took 3 wickets. Sachin was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Abhijot Singh, Sandeep Manchanda and Sohail Yusuf.
In another match, ICC drubbed Chib Cricket Club by 50 runs in an easy contest.
Batting first, ICC scored a decent total of 168 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Sahil Singh scored brilliant 58 runs off 36 balls, while Atul contributed 29 runs. For Chib Cricket Club, Ajay, Sahil and Sandeep took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Chib CC could manage only 118 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sethi and Ajay scored 27 and 25 respectively. Bodhraj, Rakesh and Sanjay took 2 wickets each for ICC. Sahil Singh was declared man of the match for his magnificent knock.
