JAMMU, Dec 18: With an aim to develop the photographic skills and to make upcoming and working photojournalists aware with latest trends in professional photography, Press Club of Jammu organised an interactive session with senior photojournalist Tauseef Mustafa.
“Jammu and Kashmir is a trouble torn state and we have lost many of our photojournalists while they were performing their duties, but in my opinion your safety and security must be your top priority”, said Tauseef Mustafa.
President Press Club of Jammu, Ashwani Kumar presided over the function while Resident Editor of The Tribune Arun Joshi was chief guest.
Tauseef Mustafa is associated with International News Agency, Agence France-Press (AFP) and has distinction of covering various trouble hit countries like Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran.
While replying to a question Tauseef said that feature photography is an emerging trend in photo journalism these days. “I see a vast scope in feature photography, especially in Jammu, where people living in villages and border areas are still connected with our old culture and lot of work can be done on this”, he said.
Ashwani Kumar in his address asked upcoming photojournalists to focus on emerging trends in professional photography. He said that photojournalists should work on features as it has a vast scope.
Arun Joshi in his address asked the photojournalists not to underestimate themselves and work with full dedication, which will help them to achieve their dreams. He also appreciated the role of Press Club of Jammu in organising this function.
