PDC ‘B’ thrashes Shaheen Sports, sails into next round

SRINAGAR, Oct 14: J&K Power Development Corporation (PDC) “B” football team thrashed Shaheen Sports Football team by two goals to nil and sailed into the next round of the ongoing J&K Bank Annual League Football Tournament organised by J&K Football Association at Polo Ground, here today.
In the first match of the day, J&K PDC ‘B’ thrashed Shaheen Sports Football team by two goals to zero (2-0). Aqib from J&K PDC ‘B’ netted the first goal in the 30th minute, which its opponent failed to equalize in the first half. In the second half, Aqib again netted another goal in the 60th minute and the match ended with 2:0 goals.
The second match of the day was played between, Court Road and Young Iqbal. Both the teams played good football till the end of the game. Saleem from Court Road netted the goal in the first half. In the second half, Afeef of Young Iqbal netted the equalizer goal and the match ended with 1:1 goal each.
In the third match, Regal Sports registered a solitary goal victory over its opponent Royal Sports. Shakeel of Regal Sports netted the first goal of the match in the 25th minute, which its opponent failed to equalize and match was won by Regal Sports.
In the fourth match of the day, J&K Bank ‘A’ outplayed Iqbal Sports by 3:1. The first goal of the match was netted by Ghulam Mohd of Iqbal Sports in the 20th minute, which was equalized by Rohit Kumar of J&K Bank ‘A’ team in the 26 minute. The bank doubled its lead in 32nd minute through Zubair, whereas, third goal was scored by Umer Jan in 53rd minute.
In the fifth and last match of the day, J&K Forest team trounced J&K PDC ‘A’ by 2-1 goals. It was forest team, which opened account in 7th minute of the game through Mansoor. But team could not hold this lead and Gulzar of PDC ‘A’ netted the equalizer goal in the 15th minute.  Waseem Javed of Forest team smashed the third goal of the match in the 21st minute, which its opponent team, failed to equalize till the end of the match, thus paved way for J&K Forest team to advance into the next round of the tournament.
