PDD data hacked, complaint lodged

Srinagar June 26: The Power Development Department was lodged a complaint with the Cyber Police in Kashmir alleging that their data was hacked and police is looking into the complaint.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar told Excelsior that the PDD has lodged a complaint alleging that their website has been hacked. He said they are looking into nature of the case before registering an FIR.
However, PDD has pressed its men and machinery into service and assured that the service will be restored within ten or more days. Sources said that PDD has lost all its data.
PDD has constituted an internal enquiry to find out the lacunae as the attack has pushed all activities including billing process on hold.
An official said that four servers have been compromised. He addec that they were trying to find the amount of damage caused by the attack. He said that the restoration work has already been started. He said that the PDD has suspended all operations for safety measures.
