JAMMU, Sept 9: An “awareness camp” to discuss the Voluntary Load Disclosure Scheme (VLDS) was organized, at Rotary Bhavan, Green belt, Gandhi Nagar by the Electric Maintenance and RE Division-II of PDD here the other day.
The basic aim of the awareness camp was to make the consumers aware of the scheme, its benefits and to clarify any misinterpretations with respect to the scheme. AEE of Sub-Division, Gandhi Nagar divulged the details of the scheme and explained its benefits.
A healthy interactive session was conducted during the awareness camp between the representatives of the consumers and PDD headed by Gurbachan Singh, Superintending Engineer EM&RE Circle-I, Jammu. Vikram Gaur, president, Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society, besides highlighting the benefits of the scheme, also clarified the concept of diversity factor of 0.6 to be applied in calculating the contract demand under the VLDS.
J. S. Sudan, president Association for Welfare of Senior Citizens also expressed his views about the scheme and stressed on revising the application to include the diversity factor calculations in the form itself. Subsequently, he advised the department to provide the details of the calculations of the bill amount on the back side of the bill sheet, particularly the last three months billing details, the unit- wise billing and details of penalty, if imposed. He also stressed that the meter- reading log should be provided at the consumers’ premises.
