JAMMU, Dec 4: PDDC (B) and Vijay Club scripted convincing wins and sailed into the next round of the ongoing Christmas Soccer Tournament, being organized by Christian Sports Organization in collaboration with J&K Police Department, Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) and J&K Sports Council at GGM Science College Football ground here today.
In the first match of the day, PDDC (B) thrashed J&K Bank by a solitary goal.
In first half of the match, players of both the teams strived hard to score a goal, but in the last minute Nainjot Singh of PDDC (B) netted the goal and the first half ended with 1-0 goals.
In the second half, players of J&K Bank tried their level best to equalize the game, but failed and lost the match by 1-0 goals.
In another match, Vijay Club thrashed Hero Club by 4-1 goals.
The first goal of the match was scored by Vishal Dogra of Vijay Club in the 20th minute, which was equalized by Satvinder of Hero Club in the 23rd minute.
The third goal of the match was netted by Mohit of Vijay Club in the last minutes of the first half and the match ended with 2-1 goals.
In just opening of the second half, enthusiastic Vishal Dogra of Vijay Club with his commendable footwork chipped in goal in 40th minute. He again trounced back and scored goal in the 55th minute and brought the opponent team under extreme pressure.
In the last 10 minutes of the game, the players of Hero Club were looking dominated and thus lost the match by 4-1goals.
The matches were officiated by Clint Mattoo, Rinku Gill, Moon Stephan, Saudhar Mattoo, Harmanjeet Singh and Elijah Sotra.
On the occasion, PP Peter, Chief Manager of Bank of India Jammu branch, was the chief guest, who while speaking extended his full support. He also desires that the national footballers of the J&K must be the part of the Bank of India sports teams.
Among others present were Rajesh Gill, president, CSO, David Mattoo, Asif gill, coach, David Burat, Sunny and Binny.
In tomorrow fixture, Young Hero will lock horns with Sanik Colony and PDDC (A) will take on Young Rovers at same venue.
