PDP committed to solve problems of Christians: Mufti

JAMMU, Mar 8: Former Chief Minister and PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed today assured the members of  Christian community to resolve their issues if his party comes to power in next Assembly elections.
Interacting with a delegation of  Christian community here today, Mufti said that programme and policies of PDP were aimed at addressing grievances of all the sections of the society. He said that PDP’s development agenda has been formulated accommodating aspirations of all the sections of the society.  He assured the delegation that the PDP, if voted to power, would  solve all the genuine issues of the Christian community.
The Christian deputation led by Nicodemus, president All J&K Christian United Federation met the PDP patron at his residence here today. It comprised of  Pastor Showkat Peter, Pastor Inderyas Jamwal, Pastor Prince, Pastoerl Issaac Bhatti, Jhonson Gill and others.
While highlighting their issues the  members demanded reservation for the community and vocational centers for women. Senior PDP leader S Rangil Singh, vice president T S Bajwa, district president  R K Bali  and MLA Ch Zulfikar were also present.
Meanwhile, NC leader Ch  Shafiq Ahmed and elder brother of Ch Zulfikar, MLA Darhal,  joined PDP in presence of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed here today.  Ch Shafiq who retired as Dy Registrar Cooperatives Department had joined NC on February 4. Changing his decision, he resigned from NC  and today came into the PDP fold.
