MENDHAR, Mar 12: Advocate and senior PDP leader Nadeem Rafiq Khan toured Gursai village of Mendhar and met public deputation of Gursai Sar, Gursai Moore and Gursai Harmutha.
The people highlighted general public grievances relating to electricity, roads and drinking water. People of Gursai Sar and Gursai Moore sought earlier completion of water supply schemes, for which bore, rising pipes work are already done. Raising the public issue, a retired Inspector Kurshad Shah demanded that the works of PMGSY/PWD roads of Gursai are derailed and need to be started for making better transportable road for hilly approaching houses. He also stressed on electrification of left over hamlets of Gursai village where wires are hanging on trees.
People of Gursai Harmutha Kasyote, led by Sardar Aras Khan and Panchayat members, arranged a public meeting at Kasyote in order to show on ground situation faced by them. Senior citizens Syed Gousal Ali Shah, Tufail Shah, Nazir Mughal, Nasar Mughal, Haji Tariq, Ghani Choudhary, Aziz Choudhary, Hameed Kashmiri highlighted drinking water problem. They demanded earlier completion of the project which was sanctioned by Executive Engineer Poonch.
After listening to the general public issues and touring the Gursai village, Nadeem Rafiq Khan made an appeal to District Development Commissioner Poonch that Scheme of Agriculture assistance (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) of Rs 6000, which was sanctioned for the benefits of farmers, should be extended to the shelling affected people of Balakote, Mendhar and Mankote. Besides, he added, direction should be given to concerning department Officers of PDD, PHE, PMGSY, PWD to speed up working progress in hilly areas for public welfare.
Nadeem Rafiq was accompanied by Aris Khan, Nasar Mughal , Liaqat Choudhary, Kursheed Choudhary, Majid Khan, Safeer Hussain Shah and others.
