PDP needs unflinching support: Hamid Choudhary

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Mar 8: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and coordinator for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that time has come to give a befitting reply to forces that are inimical to peace and development in our State. The State, he said is at the crossroads of history for which PDP needs an unflinching support from people to change their fate.
False promises, half-hearted approach towards development, last minutes sops, abandoned projects, deep rooted corruption, undermined anti-graft bodies and jeopardised democratic institutions are all what incumbent Government has left for people of State to deal with. Had the Government shown any sincerity in six years of rule and governed ably, fate of people of Jammu and Kashmir State would have changed.
This is for the first time that unemployment graph has risen and youth have started moving out of State to seek jobs. The Government, he said has miserably failed to create jobs for educated youth due to which they have been forced to leave their homes and hearths. The natural resources if tapped, software companies and industrial houses made to descend in Jammu and Kashmir State and available industrial policy altered to suit education system in our State, enough employment could have been generated.
Seeking votes for party candidate from Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency, Yash Pal Sharma, Choudhary Hamid said that these general elections would decide the fate of Assembly elections as well. People of Poonch, Rajouri and other Assembly segments of this constituency, he said, have got the son of the soil to bank upon and become their true representative. They must elect and send Yash Pal Sharma to the highest parliamentary body of the country to make their voice heard in most vibrant manner.
The incumbent Government in Jammu and Kashmir has outlived its life and a change that is eminent must be affected by voters in coming elections, Choudhary Hamid added. The voters he said must reject inefficient Government and give PDP a chance to let an era of peace and prosperity dawn in Jammu and Kashmir State.
