JAMMU, Oct 3: Sidhra police arrested a pedestrian alongwith 48 pouches of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Sidhra police post laid a naka near Tawi Bridge and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 48 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the person on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Bansi Lal, a resident of Asrara Abad, Sidhra.
A case under FIR Number 216/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and accompanied by Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Noor Mohammad made the arrest under the supervision of SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
