UDHAMPUR, Apr 6: A pedestrian was knocked to death by a rashly driven truck on the National Highway, near Kud, here today.
According to the Police, the truck bearing registration number .JK02B-6359, was on way from Srinagar to Jammu when it hit a pedestrian, who was walking on the roadside near Kud. Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured person to SDH Chenani, where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his critical condition. However, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Jammu and later his dead body was shifted to DH Udhampur for postmortem and other legal formalities.
According to the locals, the deceased, namely Rama Kant, son of Shri Ram, was working in a locale Dhaba at Kud.
