Peer sent to 15 days jail

Srinagar, Dec 16: A local Court today sent former Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE), Mushtaq Ahmad Peer, the main accused in Common Entrance Test (CET)-2012, to 15 days Judicial remand.
Early this month, the Court had sent him to 10 days judicial remand and he was lodged at Central Jail Srinagar.
The Anti-Corruption Judge, Mohan Lal Manhas, granted  15 days Judicial remand of Peer and directed that he should be lodged at Central Jail Srinagar.
The Investigating Officer (IO) of the Crime Branch while pleading for the Judicial remand of Peer told Court that he is medically fit and lot of incriminating evidence is yet to be collected from him.
The Court while granting 15 day Judicial remand to Peer also directed Crime Branch to expedite the investigation of the case.
The Court had earlier reserved judgment on Peer’s bail plea and its hearing is tomorrow. The Court had earlier denied bail to another accused Sajjad Ahmad.
