JAMMU, Mar 20: Provin-cial Electric Employees Union (PEEU) held a protest at Bishnah.
Hundreds of PDD employees of tehsil Bishnah participated in the protest. The protest was organized by employees and office bearers of Bishnah Unit including Janak Rah, Ravinder Goswami and PC Sharma, Provincial President.
The protesters demanded retrospective effect to the already regularized DRWS, technical grade to all technical employees, amendment in service recruitment rules, allotment of proper designation in accordance with their job assignment, simplification in releasing the benefits of employeed welfare fund scheme, ex-gratia relief, janta insurance scheme, implementation of SRO 59, remedial measures to reduce the death rate of lineman through electric shock and white paper for the reasons of casualties of lineman.
PC Sharma while speaking appealed to all the employees to remain united to get their legitimate demands redressed.
On the occasion, the participants re-organized the Bishnah Unit. Raman Kumar was elected as President, Romesh Lal Sharma as vice president, Ram Pal as general secretary, Rakesh Kumar as cashier, Rahul Kumar as deputy cashier, Romesh Lal Sharma as organizer and Mewa Ram as assistant organizer.
Sanjeev Gupta, Darshan Lal, Mohan Lal, Ashok Kumar and Bhajan Dass have been elected as members, Hans Raj as advisor.
