JAMMU, Jan 28: A delegation of Pending Shopkeepers Association Jagti township, Nagrota led by National Conference (NC) Minority Cell president, M K Yogi and ex MLC B L Bhat called on Chief Secretary, B R Sharma here today and discussed the problems of the shopkeepers of erstwhile migrant camps who are waiting for last five years for allotment of shops at Jagti township.
Both Yogi and Bhat while highlighting the plight of these shopkeepers informed the Chief Secretary that they have been put to many hardships due to the constant delay in allotment of shops to them at Jagti. They said though the shops have since been constructed they have not been allotted to deserving shopkeepers and this has led to a lot of resentment among them. They said that these shopkeepers who were running their small business establishments in the erstwhile camps have become totally idle after the shifting of the camps to Jagti in year 2010-11 and since then they are running from pillar to post for the allotment of shops to them but to no avail.
Yogi and Bhat wanted to know what was the fun of constructing these shops and spending a huge amount on their construction if they were not to be allotted to the deserving shopkeepers?
The Chief Secretary assured the delegation that the shops will be allotted to deserving shopkeepers at the earliest.
The members of the delegation were Piyaray Pandita, Mano Ji Tickoo, Ashok Reshi, Manoo Ji Ganjoo, Ashok Kumar Tickoo, Chuni Lal Kaul, Daya Krishan Raina, Bansi Lal Marhata and Naresh Koul.
