KATHUA, Sept 16: National Highway was today blocked by the irate people in protest against the mysterious death of a missing youth.
The residents of village Jarmal and Nagari blocked the National Highway in front of District Hospital Kathua along with dead body of a youth who died in mysterious circumstances. The family members and relatives of the youth sat on dharna on National Highway and raised slogans in favour of their demands and against the police.
The brother of slain youth Som Raj alleged that his younger brother Kamaldeep Kumar, 25, son of Hans Raj resident of village Jarmal was missing since September 12. His dead body was found hanging on a tree near the village in mysterious circumstances. He alleged that it is a case of blind murder. He also added that the father of deceased has also died in mysterious circumstances few years past.
He said that some people are behind their land and land dispute is cause of his mysterious death. They demanded high level enquiry into the matter. The SHO Kathua, Anil Kumar reached the spot and assured the family members of deceased that an impartial enquiry will be held and the mater will be investigated. A case under 174 RPC has been registered and police started investigation into matter. The postpartum of the dead body was conducted at DH Kathua and the body handed over to family members for last rites.
