SAMBA, Feb 18: The irate residents of Khada Maidan held a protest demonstration and blocked the Purmandal road for three hours demanding the immediate arrest of the people responsible for murder of Mangal Singh S/o Daya Ram who succumbed to his injuries at GMC late last night.
The protestors who gathered on the road shouted slogans and demanded that administration should investigate the matter and immediately arrest the people responsible for murder of Mangal Singh who was a forest guard and was attacked with some sharp edged weapons yesterday by some miscreants.
The protesters including men, women and children did not allow the vehicular movement on the Purmandal road.
Later DC Samba, Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba, Jogidner Singh and Additional SP Samba visited the area and assured the protestors that the police is investigating the case and the culprits responsible for the murder will not be spared and put behind the bars soon.
They sought their cooperation with investigating agencies also. Meanwhile when contacted SSP Samba Joginder Singh said that police has detained three suspects and it is investigating the matter. He said police is on the look out for some wanted persons and after their arrest the entire picture will become clear. He said as per the preliminary report of the doctors it is a case of murder.
Family members of the victim said that Mangal was attacked by some persons with sharp edged weapons and he received serious injuries in his head. Though he was shifted to GMC for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries there.
