People protest against CAPD at Manjakot

RAJOURI, Mar 24: The villagers held strong protest demonstration against the CAPD department and district Administration Rajouri for scarcity of ration and faulty database prepared supply of ration under NFSA in the area.
The people from Manjakot town and adjoining villages led by several Sarpanches and Panches of the area and members of Peer Panchal People’s Welfare Forum came out on the road and took out protest rally. Later, they moved to the Tehsil office and held protest demonstration for some time. The movement of  the vehicles was also disrupted briefly but the highway remained almost operational.
The peacefully protesting villagers including members led by local leader Arshed Malik from the  Forum alleged that people have not received ration for the last more than three months and public is facing severe scarcity of food grains/ sugar. He also alleged that there was number of mistakes in the lists/ prepared by the CAPD and Revenue officials and the people have been facing lot of problems. Many names have been deleted or wrongly mentioned in the lists.
He demanded that DC Rajouri should issues orders to hold camp at Manjakot so that corrections are made in the lists. Patwaris and concerned CAPD officials are hardly available to the people and Administration  should ensure that data vase is corrected without any more delay. The top officers are making tall claims that making corrections is ongoing process but on the ground, field staff is harassing to the innocent public. No body is taking responsibility. Later, they all submitted a memorandum to the Tehsildar for the DC concerned.
