KATHUA, June 1: The residents of village Chack Ram Singh at Govindsar industrial area near here held a protest demonstration against the opening of wine shop at village Chack Ram Singh.
The residents including the women in large number led by BJP district president Prem Nath Dogra blocked the College road in front of DC office and raised anti Government slogans and held the Excise Department responsible for shifting the wine shop to the locality. The women alleged that the wine shop was shifted from National Highway Hatli More to Chack Ram Singh Govindsar which is highly populated area.

The people who will visit the shop to purchase wine can create a public nuisance and some times drunkards will be found lying on the road due to which it will be difficult for the women folk to move out in the locality.
The women alleged that the Kathua police is also supporting the wine shop owner and ignoring the voice of people. The BJP district president Prem Nath Dogra alleged that when the people are not interested to open a wine shop in their locality why the Government is interested in it. He said a memorandum was also submit to Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar to close the wine shop immediately otherwise the people will takes  serious action and  district administration will be responsible for any law and order problem after that .
