People protest against opening of wine shop

KATHUA, Sept 19: The residents of Ward Nos 3, 4 ,9 and 10 took out a protest demonstration against the Excise and Taxation Department which has allowed  opening of wine shop in residential area of Krishna Colony near here.

The protesters of Krishna Colony and nearby locality including large numbers of women and children came on the road and blocked it for an hour. They raised the slogans against the State Government and Excise and Taxation Department. Bimal Devi one of the protesters strongly condemned the attitude of the Government for opening the wine shop in residential locality which will spoil the lives of young generation.
Rashpal Singh a youth alleged that the Government is spoiling the lives of young generation with opening of wine shop. He said that a nexus is running under the nose of Excise Commissioner and wine shops and bars are opened for their personnel interest. They are playing with lives of hundreds of people in Jammu.
But they never dare to open even a single wine shop in Kashmir. The Government wanted to spoil the Dogra community. He alleged that the site selected for Wine shop in Krishna  Colony is near to Mahakleshwar temple, a Government, school and thick populated area. They warned the Government to stop this practice otherwise mass scale protest would be launched.
