People protest, block Poonch-Rawlakote road

POONCH, July 25: The people from Degwar and Ajot villages held strong protest and blocked Poonch-Chakkan-da-Bagh-Rawlakoate road for about two hours today.
Due to road blockade near Betar bridge, the weekly bus service between Poonch and Rawlakote (PoK) was also got struck for about an hour.  The people from Degwar area were protesting against the authorities for the worst condition of the road.
They alleged that for the last several years condition of this road has deteriorated and  the concerned authorities failed to get the road repaired. Even the district administration did not bother for the plight of the public. They raised slogans against the R&B, BRO and also District Administration. A large number of vehicles remained stranded on the road for long. The cross LoC bus with 65 passengers also remained  stranded there.
Later, DSP headquarters Poonch and Tehsildar reached  the spot and they pacified the agitating villagers. On their assurance, the people then lifted dharna and allowed movement of vehicles.
