KATHUA, May 3: The people of Billawar held a protest demonstration in the town today against the yesterday’s stone pelting by a section of people who were protesting against the murder of a person by three assailants two days back.
The protestors while raising slogans against the police and administration accused it of not controlling the protestors yesterday who pelted stones on residential houses in the area.
They, while taking serious exception to yesterday’s protest by some people in the town accused them of deliberately trying to create law and order situation in the area and fomenting trouble on behest of some vested elements.
They said there was no fun of holding demonstration and resorting to violence when the police had already arrested all the three assailants.
The protestors demanded immediate arrest of the people who were leading the protest yesterday and instigated people to violence otherwise they will launch the agitation. They also accused administration and police of acting in a partisan way.
