UDHAMPUR, Mar 25: Agitated over opening of a wine shop near Manthal National Highway in Tikri, locals held a strong protest demonstration and blocked the road.
A large number of men and women joined the protest and raised slogans against opening of wine shop in Manthal. They were demanding closure of the wine shop because of populated area as well a temple and school there.
Even as Police reached the spot and sought to pacify the agitating people, the latter refused to disperse till an assurance by the authorities over their demand.
The protest continued till late evening.
