JAMMU, July 20: People residing in villages located on both sides of Ghou-Manassan road converged at Dei Chak under the chairmanship of senior National Conference leader Sat Pal Lakhotra ( Ex-MLA) and held protest against R&B authorities for not undertaking repair work of this dilapidated road.
The villagers alleged that they have been requesting the concerned R&B authorities time and again to improve and repair this road but they have totally ignored their requests.
“Roads are basic development element and good road network of any area opens new door of development,” said Sat Pal Lakhotra adding that now rainy season has started and upper road surface has been badly damaged and broken at many places. Now, it has become very difficult to the people of the area to ply their vehicles on the uneven road.
People threatened to block the road if the authorities concerned do not take the steps to improve the road immediately. After brief protest, the people dispersed.
