JAMMU, Mar 6: District Congress Committee, Jammu Rural, today said that the general public is suffering badly on account of economic slowdown, unemployment and unbridled inflation due to wrong policies of the BJP led Government at the Centre.
In the DCC meeting held at Gajansoo, on the outskirts of Jammu former minister Mula Ram said that the miseries of the common man today are attributed to the wrong policies of the BJP Government at the Centre. Petrol and diesel prices are at all-time high having made history; LPG prices have doubled as compared to their prices before 2014 while the prices of vegetables, fruits, edible oils, pulses, eggs and other essentials are out of reach of the common man, they lamented. He asked Govt to initiate drastic measures to bring down fuel prices.
DCC president Hari Singh Chib, in his address, said that in view of the prevailing scenario in the country, there is a dire need to counter the fallacious agenda of BJP which has been befooling especially the people of the Jammu and Kashmir by propagating false narratives of unprecedented development and transparency galore in this sensitive region of the nation. He said that despite assurance by Home Minister Amit Shah regarding restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, no road map has been prepared by the BJP lead Union Govt till date.
Uday Chib said that the BJP has failed to fulfill the promises made to the people of Jammu before elections and instead it continues its wrong policies thus bringing nothing but miseries to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He added that BJP’s promise of providing employment to the youth of J&K also turned out to be hollow, its failure on this front can be well gauged from growing disillusionment and frustration among the unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Later, dozens of youth from Gajansoo area joined the Party fold and assured to strengthen Congress at grass roots level.
