KISHTWAR, Apr 2: Minister of State for I&C and Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, today asked people to come out in full force and vote against those who favour division of the country on regional and religious lines. He added that J&K State will prosper only as one entity and those who favour division of the State will bite the dust in the coming elections.
The Minister was addressing today a party meeting, which was attended by workers from Kishtwar, Palmar, Nagseni, Padder, Dool, Trigam, Chatroo, Thatri, Bunjwah, Drabshall and other parts of the district.
Senior district NC leaders Ghulam Hussain Bhat, Saroop Chand Parihar, Shamim Ahmad, Tariq Hussain Keen, Shabir Ahmad Kamal, Imtiyaz Ahmad Zargar, Bodh Raj, Abdul Rasheed Zargar, Ghulam Rasool Magray, Mohammad Aslam Dev, Brij Lal, Kartar Singh, Manoj Kumar, Rajinder Sen, Pyare Lal, Baldev Singh and Ashok Kumar Baghat were present on the occasion.
The Minister asked party workers to make people aware about the achievements of the present coalition Government that has brought in a new era of peace and development in the State. “Over the last more than five years, the Government in every sector has made major strides and improved the standard of life in the State,” he said, adding that special focus has been given to far-flung areas and weaker sections of the society.
Praising the Government for creating new administrative units in the State, Kichloo stated that once these become functional, micro-level administration will become much easier.
Coming down heavily on PDP and BJP for creating hurdles in the development of the State, the Minister said the people will declare their verdict in favour of secular forces and elect Congress-NC candidates in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
