SRINAGAR, June 4: Government today claimed reluctance to pay as per the circle area rates is hindering the regularisation of colonies in Jammu.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Rajesh Gupta in Lower House, Minister Incharge Housing and Urban Development Department said the public is reluctant for depositing the cost at par with the circle rates of the area as in case of un-authorised colony at Channi Rama, Jammu under J&K Housing board wherein demand survey for regularisation of 1502 kanals was conducted in the year 2011.
The Minister stated the proposal for regularization of 21 new colonies was initiated by Jammu Development Authority. “But the High Court stayed the process of regulation and has directed to keep the process of regularisation of these colonies pending till formulation of policy by the Government,” he added.
“In view of these directions of High Court the process of regularisation of these un- authorised colonies has been kept pending till policy is framed, which is under consideration of the Government,” the Minister added.
