JAMMU, Aug 3: Taste the lip smacking delicacies and experience the magic of Irani cuisine at Persian Food Festival, which began today at The Terrace Skylounge, Hotel K C Residency, Jammu.
Chef Mona, a renowned celebrity chef from Iran specialized in the Iranian style of cooking along with Celebrity Chef M Rehman and team of his khansamas will display their skills with tasty and scrumptious delicacies during the festival, which will conclude on August 12.
Persian cuisine (now known as Iranian cuisine) is full of strong scents and flavors. In modern times, the Persian cuisines are becoming popular rapidly. All the dishes are made from the food traditions and cooking methods of Iranians.
“During battles, post-sunset, soldiers used to roast their game on their metal shields, applying nothing but some herbs, pepper and salt on the meat pieces, thus giving the food a smoky flavour. Much of Persian cuisine is actually a warrior’s cuisine,” explains the chef.
“The dip is delicious, made with walnuts, sun-dried tomatoes, breadcrumbs, olive oil and Turkish chilli paste. It is the pearly pomegranate seeds that give the dip its colour and tangy-sweet flavour”, he added.
