PG Arts drubs Commerce College via tie-breaker

Footballers thrilling in the middle to get hold of the ball during Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament at Jammu University Ground on Tuesday.

JAMMU, Oct 9: Post Graduate (PG) Department of Arts, University of Jammu drubbed Government Commerce College Jammu by six goals to five via tie-breaker in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament at Jammu University grounds, here today.
Earlier, in the stipulated time, the first goal was scored by Tarunpal Singh of PG Arts in the 15th minute of the game, while the equilizer came from Rahul Jasrotia of Commerce College.
In the extra time both the teams failed to score any goal and the match was decided in the tie breaker, wherein PG Arts won by six goals to five (6-5). Ayush, Anurag, Varun, Suraj and Tarunpal Singh were the goal scorers for PG Arts, while Karan, Dharam, Stanzin and Navjeet scored the goals for Commerce College.
Meanwhile, in another match, ASCOMS defeated PG Law by a solitary goal to advance in the tournament, while MBS College got better of MIET by two goals to one (2-1) to move into the next round. Jeevanjot Singh and Arun Nangyal were the goal scorers for MBS College, while Sheikh Mustafa netted the goal for MIET.
Prominent among others who witnessed today’s matches were Ramesh Sharma PTI Campus, Narayani Jamwal Physical Director, Jai Bharat, Raj Kumar and Dr Brij Baloria.
The matches were officiated by Gagan Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Pardeep Kotoch, Vijay Kumar and Harman Jeet Singh.
