JAMMU, Apr 27: Govt PG College Rajouri organized a One Day Inter-College symposium on Gandhian Philosophy of Truth and Non-Violence in the Multipurpose Hall of the College.
The programme was witnessed by a large number of students, faculty members and members of civil society of Rajouri.
Prof Mohd Iqbal Raina and Prof Mohd Saleem Wani being Coordinator and member of College Literary and Cultural Committee respectively Coordinated the affairs of the event and ensured a healthy participation of various colleges of the District including Govt. Degree College Thanamandi, Govt. Degree College Budhal, Himalayan Degree College Rajouri and Govt. P.G. College Rajouri.
The programme was chaired by Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah, Principal of the College who in his address stressed upon the relevance of Gandhian Philosophy of truth and non-violence in the present age and desired that the young generation should try to establish a sync with the true teachings of various religious scriptures like Gandhiji to live a life of tolerance, peace and mutual respect.
Danish Bashir of GDC Thanamandi, Uzma Raina of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri and Shafaq Khan of Govt PG College Rajouri clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
Prof. Farooq Mirza, Prof. Assadullah khan and Dr. Yashpaul Sharma acted as judges in the event. Miss Zeenat Fatima conducted the proceedings of the dais whereas Prof. Saleem Wani gave the welcome address and Prof. Sajar Malik extended the vote of thanks.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Prof. H. S. Ishar, Prof. Shamim Ahmed Azad, Prof. Anwar Shah, Prof. Abdul Qayoom Khan, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Prof. Manzoor Ahmed Dar, Prof. Ghulam Abass, prof. Sajar Malik, Prof. Naseem Malik, Prof. Ikhlaq, Prof. Naveen Sharma and Prof. Yasir Chowdhary.
