PGTA alleges anarchy in Edu Deptt

JAMMU, Nov 12: A deputation of  J&K Post Graduate Teachers Association (PGTA), met the Secretary School Education  Nirmal Sharma here today and apprised her of the alleged anarchy prevailing in the department.
The members led by Naresh Kumar, convenor NGTA alleged that Directorate of School  Education has violated the norms of transfer policy. Pick and choose method was adopted to adjust recently promoted Masters for monetary benefits. A large number of premature transfers of lecturers and teachers/ masters were ordered without mandatory approval  of the Administrative Department in the recent past. Many promotions were accorded on fate B.Ed degrees. They also submitted some relevant documents in this connection to the  Secretary seeking inquiry.
They pointed out that 1193 teachers were promoted as Masters in February this year by the Directorate and many were promoted on fake degrees from Jamia Urdu Aligarh University ( UP) and other institutions. This degree/ varsity is neither recognised by UGC or University of Jammu.  They demanded high level inquiry and action against the officers involved. The Secretary assured the deputation members to initiate an inquiry into the matter.
