PGTA apprises Director School Education of teachers’ issues

JAMMU, Nov 3: A deputation of J&K Post Graduate Teachers Association called on Director School Education, R A Inqulabi and drew hit attention towards various issues being confronted by the teaching community.
The deputation, led by Naresh Kumar, demanded cancellation of all the pre-matured transfers, which were made without mandatory approval of Administrative Department and also release funds under SSA and RMSA at the earliest so that teachers under these schemes can get their pending salaries.
The Association also drew attention towards the recent promotion of a number of teachers without valid B Ed degree from recognized universities. Many teachers have managed promotion as Master by producing fake B Ed degrees from unrecognized universities through Distance mode, particularly from Jamia Urdu Aligarh University (UP) whereas this university is neither recognized by UGC nor a member of the Association of Indian Universities, the Association explained.
The PGTA also warned to knock the door of  Vigilance Commission and court if no action is taken on the issued highlighted by them.
The Director gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that all their demands would be given due consideration after proper verification of record. He also sought cooperation of teachers for smooth running of the Education Department, particularly the schools in Jammu province.
