JAMMU, Apr 16: PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), J&K organized a workshop on “Women in leadership” Courage and Confidence as Women Leaders at the convention hall of The Business School, University of Jammu.
It was organized in collaboration with The Business School, and KAS (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung) a German organization and PHD Chamber.
The objective of the workshop was to inspire the women folks to come forward in the field of business and entrepreneurship.
The occasion was graced by Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman, PHDCCI J&K Committee, Prof Versha Mehta, Director, The Business School, University of Jammu, Prof Dipankar Sengupta, HoD, Department of Economics, University of Jammu, Varuna Anand, Proprietor, Splendor of Kashmir, Ruchi Chauhan Khan, Managing Director, Amazon Info Tech Centre, Aarti Mahajan, Owner, Shape and Smile–The Fitness Club and Prof Alka Sharma, Prof, The Business School.
Speaking at the event, Kuthiala inspired the women present and encouraged them to realize their potentials and the motivated them to rise above the obstacles.
Prof Versha Mehta with her inspiring words focused on how the girls should take up lead in all fields and not to sit back and do nothing.
Ruchi shared her own experience and struggles and the circumstances under which she started working and how a female should thrive and work hard irrespective of all the challenges one faces.
Varuna Anand who belongs to a business family stressed on the issue that one needs to realise the potential and work accordingly.
Prof Dipankar Sengupta shared some informative knowledge about different women leaders from times immemorial who had achieved great heights and encouraged the girl students to start up ventures and achieve excellence.
Aarti Mahajan shared her experience as a student and how she succeeded in her life with the support from her family.
Prof Alka Sharma talked about how young women can capitalize on their strengths and weaknesses and have a successful future as Business leaders and entrepreneurs.
The event ended with an interactive session where in the young students asked the dignitaries about their lives, visions and experiences.
