JAMMU, Dec 12: A drive for disconnection of illegal water connections of commercials concerns being run in domestic premises was conducted by team of PHE City Division No. 2 headed by Executive Engineer PHE City -II Ashok Sharma, here today.
Illegal water connection of garden center (nursery) being run in plot No. 35 A/C Gandhi Nagar, shops in Gole Market including a reputed jewellers shop in the area having unregistered connections were disconnected on the spot.
In Narwal area various commercial establishments were checked by the team included Bharat Banquet Hall, Raghu Industries, Ritz Manor, Bandhan Resorts, Jodha Mal Public School and Kissan Floor Mill. The team disconnected unregistered water supply connections on the spot and asked the residents to immediately register their unauthorized connections for improved water supply. The Executive Engineer also called upon those residents who digged bore wells in their premises for regularization under PHE norms within 7 days.
The team in general asked the consumers to regularize water connections from PHE authorities and pay water usage charges regularly. The team called for using water judicially and avoiding water wastage.
