REASI, Mar 26: A huge rally of PHE Employees Association (PHEEA) was organized here under the chairmanship of INTUC chief and provincial president of PHEEA, Jammu Province, Shiv Kumar Sharma, in support of the demands of PHE employees.
A large number of PHE employees drawn from Dharmari, Arnas, Salal, Pouni, Park, Kulda, Aghar Jitto, Katra, Bhawan, Panthal, Bhaga and other far flung areas of the District participated in the rally.
Addressing the largely attended rally, vice-president, PHEEA, Jammu Province and District president, Udhampur, Som Nath appeal the State Government for early release of pending wages of CP workers, conduct of DPC, enhancement of wages of daily wagers from Rs 150 to Rs 350 per day.
He alleged that due to retirements in the department, many water supply schemes in Division Udhampur are going to be non-functional due to shortage of staff. He also demanded that the designation of employees be changed as per actual workings of the employees.
The other demands highlighted by the speakers included regularization of all the persons working under consolidated or community participation for 15 years under SRO 64, conversion of all CP workers as daily wagers and priority be given to regularization of daily wagers instead of direct recruitment of new ones.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hamid was elected vice-president of PHEEA, for Jammu province. Besides, district body for Reasi was also constituted, for which, Baldev Raj was elected as District president, Banarsi Lal as Divisional president, Mehboob as Divisional Chairman, Shambu Nath as general secretary and Abdul Karim as vice-president.
For Sub-Division Katra, Chuni Lal was elected as president, Sat Paul as vice-president, Rajesh Kumar as general secretary while Bir Singh, Mir Hussain, Ved Parkash, Parshotam Kumar and Chuni Lal as members.
For Sub-Division Reasi, Bhanu Partap was elected as city secretary, Rakesh Kumar Sharma as general secretary, Madan Lal as president, ITI Workers and Sohan Lal as member.
