UDHAMPUR, Sept 2: Jal Shakti (PHE) Employees and Workers Association held a meeting at PHE Complex Udhampur under the chairmanship of Vijay Kumar, General Secretary District Udhampur.
The meeting criticized the attitude of the concerned PHE high authorities for not releasing wages since 62 months. Stating that it was very difficult for the workers of PHE who are suffering without wages, the meet informed that the wages were cleared for the year 2011-2014 and then from March 2018 to 2022.
“From 2014 to 2018 , no wages were paid for the five years, which are still pending,” said the speakers, holding the previous higher authorities responsible for the same.
Vijay Kumar appealed to the Lt Governor J&K UT to intervene into the matter and solve the genuine demands of daily wagers as soon as possible. He also demanded that regularization of CP/ITI/Land case Workers:- CP/ITI/Land Case Workers should be speeded up besides those who have completed seven years of service and fulfill all other required formalities,
Vijay Kumar also highlighted other demands, which include minimum wages to the workers as per Govt order, engagement of more workers and clearing the pending cases of SRO-43.
The Association criticized the DPC order of 4000-6000 which was conducted at Chief Office level. “DPC should be conducted at divisional level and provincial level. The DPC should be done at least 2 times in a year in Mechanical Division Udhampur,” said the Association.
Vijay Kumar appealed to the UT Govt to solve the pending issue of the daily wagers otherwise the workers shall come on the road. Other senior leaders , who spoke during the meeting, included Dinesh Kesar, Parath Singh, Karan Singh, Kuldeep Kumar, Prem Nath, Baldev Raj, Puran Chand, Shambu Nath, Prabhu Lal and Ashok Kumar.
