PHEEA discusses long pending demands

UDHAMPUR, Nov 3: A meeting of District Executive bodies of PHE Employees Association (PHEEA) of both Udhampur and Reasi districts was held here at PHE Complex, wherein the speakers highlighted various demands including release of pending wages of PHE workers.
The meeting chaired by vice-president, PHEEA, Jammu province, Som Nath, who while addressing appealed the employees and workers of the department to teach a lesson to all those cabinet Ministers who became a stubling block in the process of their regularization in the Forthcoming Assembly elections, as the workers have been hoping their regularization before Model Code of Conduct.
He also discussed various demands of the Association including meeting shortage of staff in the department, holding DPC meeting as early as possible, change of designation of workers as per nature of their working and enhancement of daily wages from Rs 150 to Rs 350.
He also urged the Government to release 17% DA from January 2014 as per Central Government pattern, give priority to regularization of daily wagers instead of making direct recruitment, circulation of list of workers engaged in the department and regularization of all ITI workers having completed five years of services.
The speakers also demanded the Government to revise the sanctioned strength of the PHE Department, which they alleged has not been revised since creation of divisions about 40-50 years back.
The speakers also appealed the employees of Jammu province to remain united for their cause and protect themselves from self styled leaders.
Those who spoke on the occasion were general secretary, Udhampur Unit, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Rattan Singh, Surajk Parkash, Baldev Raj, Makhan Chand, Jagdish Raj Magotra, Krishan Chand, Shiv Lal Sharma, Subhash Chander, Chuni Lal, Ramesh Kumar,  Ved Parkash, Janait Ali, Kuldeep Kumar, Rajinder Kumar and many others.
