PHEWWA demands regularization of daily wagers

JAMMU, June 17: A meeting of PHE Workers Welfare Association, Jammu, was held here today under the chairmanship of Bakshi Singh, president of the Association, wherein the speakers urged to Government to regularize all daily rated workers after five years.
The representatives of all the PHE Divisions participated in the meeting and discussed threadbare the issues of employees, daily wagers, CP workers and need based workers. The speakers stressed the Government to regularize all daily rated workers of PHE department who had completed five years of service. They also urged for disbursement of all pending wages to the workers in one installment.
Other demands that were taken up in the meeting pertained to rationalization of pay scales, conducting of DPC meeting and constitution of Welfare Fund Scheme for the betterment of all sorts of employees.
The Association warned of holding one day mass protest demonstration on June 29 in the office premises of Chief Engineer, PHE Department, Jammu, if their demands are not conceded by June 28.
