PHHC blanks BBSBHC in District Poonch Jr Boys Hockey C’ship

POONCH, Jan 19: Power House Hockey Club (PHHC) Poonch thrashed Baba Bandha Singh Bhadur Hockey Club (BBSBHC) by seven goals to nil (7-0) in the opening match of the District Poonch Junior Boys Hockey Championship, being organized by Hockey Poonch at Sports Stadium, here today.
Earlier, the players of PHHC dominated the game from the word go and took the early lead by scoring a goal in the 6th minute of the match through Gurjot. Then Ishtiaq scored a brilliant goal in 17th minute, before Gurjot pelted his second and the team’s third goal in the 19th minute. Then it was Ishtiaq again who increased the lead by one more goal in the 41st minute of the match. Then a goal each from Imran, Vishal and Azeem in 44th, 46th and 59th minutes respectively, took the lead to (7-0), helping their team to win the match by the same margin.
The match was officiated by Mukesh Kumar (NIS hockey coach),  Rohit Sharma, Vikas Sharma and Amandeep Singh.
Narjeet Singh, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Nangali was the chief guest.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Nirdhosh Kumar, Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch, Ravinder Singh and Mushtaq Ahmed, boxing coach.
The Championship was conducted by Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey J&K, under the supervision of Sham Lal Sharma, retired SAI hockey coach and vice president of Hockey J&K.
