It is appreciable that the Daily Excelsior has highlighted the efforts of both Indian Army and some local organisations in relief and rescue operations of the State. Besides, the photo-journalists, too have highlighted the miseries of people in both the regions of the State.
These pictures reveal the devastation caused by ravaging floods and the helplessness of people before natural calamities.
The extensive coverage on floods by the Excelsior reveals its concern for the affected families and people.
The philanthropic step by the newspaper regarding flood victims by asking people to contribute in Prime Ministers Relief Fund is also praiseworthy.
The small or big steps taken by people of all walks of life will go a long way in rehabilitating the flood victims. It also underlines a fact that India being a diverse country, having different faiths rise to the occasion whenever any crisis erupts in any part of the country. This spirit should be nurtured as it will be the basis for laying foundation for a strong naton. Let’s all work in this direction
