POONCH, Oct 18: Volleyball Tournament organized by 93 Infantry Brigade in collaboration with district unit of the Sports Council under Operation Sadbhavna commenced at Sports Stadium, here today.
A total of 13 teams in boys section and 5 teams in girls section are participating from different areas of the district in this tournament.
The inaugural match in boys section was played between Ajote Club and Pintu Club, in which latter emerged as winner by 2-0 sets with the set score of 25-23 and 25-18.
In girls section, the match was played between Stadium XI and GHSS Poonch, in which latter registered win.
The matches were officiated by Neeeaj Sharma VFI referee, Sourab Sharma PET, Ram Prakash, TS Toofan and Rajinder Singh PEM.
On the occasion, Lieutenant Colonel CB Balwara was the chief guest, while Sham Lal Sharma, Retd SAI Hockey Coach was the guest of honour. Prem Prakash, Bal Krishan and Pawan Kumar, Fitness Trainer, BCCI NCA and JKCA were also present.
Vijay Kumar PEM compared the opening ceremony.
The championship is being conducted under the supervision of Nirdosh Kumar, Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch.
In tomorrow fixture, Manjeet Club will take on Degree College Poonch and Chandak Club will clash with Kalai Club.
