Pir Panchal region symbol   of composite culture: Madni

RAJOURI, Sept 14: Peoples Democratic Party, vice president, Mohd Sartaj Madni has said that  Pir Panchal region has always remained a symbol of composite culture, amity and mutual brotherhood.
Addressing a large gathering at Rajouri, on his tour to twin border districts,  Madani said that despite partition woes and  sufferings resulting out of spells of hostility and confrontation between India and Pakistan, people have shown tremendous resilience to defeat communal politics and un-congenial atmosphere.
Accompanied by two Cabinet Ministers, Choudhary Zulfkar, Abdul Haq Khan, local MLA Qamar Choudhry and Party district president Ajaz Mirza, he took pride in the traditions of the region which contribute to the composite culture of the State and value- based politics. He said that it is because of the overall psyche of the region’s masses that PDP   flourished here and party leadership emulates from the devotion of its workers.
Madani said that Mufti Mohmmad Syed had love for the region and remained wedded to its development and progress all his life.  He said establishing Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University was his cherished dream  accomplished to lift the region at social and educational level. Similarly, Mehbooba Mufti is taking personal interest is addressing the important issues including peace at borders and emotional issues which are a backlog of partition. He said the PDP’s representatives from the two districts have made a niche and are contributors to State politics and culture.
Choudhary Zulfkar  said that present dispensation has generously contributed to development of the region and  flow of funds is changing its face. He referred to availability of essential commodities at cheaper rates under more rational schemes and said, services are available at door step, unhindered. Zulfkar said that similarly rural development and tribal development are two focused sectors, which have elevated the rural life.
Abdul Haq Khan said that he has frequently visited the region to personally monitor the development. Khan said he draws satisfaction from the fact that local administration remains on tenterhooks for providing relief to people. Haq said that Chief Minister is very disturbed at casualties resulting from border skirmishes and is doing her best to see that people do not suffer any more from Indo-Pak confrontation.
