DODA, Jan 13:Pir Panjal Kabaddi League—an inter district Kabaddi championship being organized by the Army commenced, here today.
The event was inaugurated by Retired Colonel Parshotam Kumar, ECHS Head Doda, in the presence of Army officials and civil dignitaries of this District. A total of seven teams from districts/regions including Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Ramban and Nowshera are participating in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Parshotam Kumar said that the Army is sponsoring and conducting the event with all essential administrative and logistics support. He said Army has also incorporated J&K Sports Council to select the potential players for representation at State and national levels. “Through these types of tournaments, Army is providing an impetus to the sporting talent in the region,” he added.
