Play ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava’ staged

JAMMU, Oct 13: On the occasion of Navratras, J&K Tourism Department organized a play ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava’ with artists of Viraj Kala Kendra at Higher Secondary School, Katra.
Written by Rajneesh Gupta, the play highlighted achievements of India right from the year 1947 to till date.
Officers of different departments were present on the occasion and S.K Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax (retired) was the chief guest.
In play, Madan Rangila played the role of Nawab of Hyderabad; Pawan Verma, the role of Vallabhbhai Patel; Renu Sharma, acted as Sarojini Naidu; Santosh Sangra, as Ex-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi; Rishab Manhas as Paramveer Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra; Amit Bhalla, as Colonel Joshi; Sandeep Manhas as Ex-Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri; Jiteshwar as a leader; Tarun Charak as Khudiram Bose Shubam; Sohi Sharma and Suhani Rathore as tortured women.
The make-up was done by Dr. Kamal Sharma and the play was watched by a big audience.
