Plight of Govt schools

Sir,
I have gone through the letters “Termination of contractual teachers’;’ and “Menace of copying” which appeared in this paper on 28th March.
I would  like to add a few of my observations and views. Nobody, including even primary school teachers  posted in State Govt schools, like to enrol their sons or daughters in these schools because teaching and learning activities have fallen drastically. The department received a severe setback during last 10 years.
Promotions and transfers were made on pick and choose basis, at every level. Teachers having fake educational qualifications were promoted. More than eight thousand teachers were kept attached at the places of their choice. Many of the teachers kept under attachment were busy in their private businesses, whereas contractual temporary teachers were engaged who instead of teaching any thing to poor students remained engaged in protests and rallies for their permanent appointments as teachers in Education Deptt.
Now, with the change of Govt and top officers of Education Department, people like me are watching whether some positive change takes place in Education Department or things will continue like before.
Yours etc…
