JAMMU, May 22: President of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri, today urged the Prime Minister to convene a meeting of Chief Ministers of such States which are facing financial crunch of budgetary resources for simultaneous acceptance of 7th Pay Commission (PC) recommendations as soon as they are accepted by the Central Government to its employees and pensioners.
In a memorandum sent to Narendra Modi, Shastri said that States are not in position to implement 7th PC recommendations due to huge financial implication involved in this and as such, special provision should be made to enable states to implement 7th PC simultaneously.
Shastri also urged Modi to direct chairman of the 7th PC, Justice (retd) Ashok Mathur to submit the mandated pay commission report to the Central Government by the deadline date (30th of June 2015), so that any ambiguity arising out of the same stands removed to make the report implementable by January 1, 2016.
He also emphasized in the memorandum to provide a special financial package of Rs 2000 crore to J&K Government to meet expenditure on account of regularization of 61000 daily rated workers in the State.
