PM’s package to usher era of equitable growth: Zulfkar, Khan

Jammu, Nov 23: Terming economic package announced by the  Centre as historic and growth oriented, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today said that every section of the society has been focussed while finalizing this package for the State. Party observed that demands of all regions and sub-regions have been incorporated in the package- which is going to usher an era of balanced and equitable development in the State.
Addressing a function, which was organised to felicitate Ved Mahajan on his appointment as general secretary of the party, Minister for CAPD, Choudhary Zulfikar and Ministers for Rural Development, Abdul Haq Khan today said economic package announced by the Centre for J&K is historic in the sense that first time wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society have been incorporated. They hoped that this package would usher an era of growth and development in the State.
PDP Ministers said that besides infrastructure rebuilding, the package also includes funds for rehabilitation of victims of natural calamities including last year’s devastating floods. They further said that package is beginning of a process of rebuilding State’s economy and it would go a long way in restoring people’s trust in the democratic institutions.
Maintaining that announcement of history package is vindication of the pro-people performance of the PDP led Coalition Government, PDP Ministers said that it is the biggest package that was ever sanctioned by the Central Government for the J&K State.
They opined that the package announced by Prime-Minister will bring a new era of all around development of all the regions of the State and added that this is the first time that judicious allocation of funds has been made for all the regions of the state, thereby, ensuring their equitable development. In the package the emphasis has been laid on the creation of infrastructure to pave the way for the speedy progress of the state and generation of employment opportunities for the youth of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Ved Mahajan said that party leadership has given him a big responsibility and he would work assiduously to fulfil expectations of the party leaders and workers.
