JAMMU, Mar 29: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) in its Executive Council meeting under the chairmanship of its president R K Bhat today termed that PM’s package as eyewash.
It demanded that PM’s rehabilitation package needs to be restructured, redesigned, and revised after having a proper dialogue with the concerned representatives of the community.
R K Bhat president YAIKS in his address wanted to know what initiative and responsibilities the State Government has undertaken after the mass exodus and how much the State Government is involved for the welfare of the community. He asked that are not the pundits stake holders of J&K as community has no identity because we are holding temporary ration cards for last 28 years now in world’s largest democracy. He demanded that State Government should issue a white paper that what steps it has taken for welfare and rehabilitation of exiled Pandits in last 28 years.
Bhat said that the much talked about PM’s return, relief and rehabilitation package announced at Akhnoor way back in 2008 has turned out to be a cruel joke with the community as not even the eight percent of the total package has been implemented till date.
He demanded implementation of left over posts out of 6000 jobs announced by PM in 2008, all Valley posted migrant employees be treated at par with migrant employees, sanction of one time compensation of Rs 50 lakh for over-aged youth and grant of IDP status to KPs with political empowerment.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo chairman KP Joint Action , H N Jattu president AIKPC, Virender Raina and Manohar Nath Pandit were the special invitees on the occasion. They while extending full support to YAIKS in its struggle said the youth organization is wedded to the cause of community in general and youth in particular. They appealed the community youth to come forward and strengthen YAIKS for upliftment of the future generation of the community.
Ashwani Chrungoo in his address stressed upon the need to basic contours of the comprehensive political agenda before the people and also stressed upon the unity of cadres for success of the struggle in future. He said the congenial atmosphere has emerged with the latest political developments in the country. The CPA has the potential not only to unity but also to serve a bright future for the community.
