PNB celebrates ‘September’ as Rajbhasha month

Jammu, Sept 28: Punjab National Bank (PNB), Jammu Circle celebrated the month of September as “Rajbhasha” month. In this connection, Hindi Diwas and a prize distribution function was organised in the conference hall of Circle Office, Jammu. The function was presided over by Mohd Latif Mir, DGM, Circle Head (J&K). In his address, Mir threw light upon the importance of Hindi as a link language of India and urged the staff members to make all out efforts to ensure that the guidelines laid down by Govt of India for increase in use of Hindi be adhered to so that the targets fixed in this regard are achieved. Chief Managers, SP Sharma and RVS Jasrotia welcomed all those present in the function and gave an account of the achievements of the Circle in the field of Rajbhasha. A poetry recitation competition was also organised in which Uma Sharma, Ramesh Chandra Bhatt and Gurmeet Singh were adjudged first, second and third respectively while consolation prizes were secured by Megha Sharma and Lavi Billowaria. Dr Amar Singh, secretary, Town official, Language Implementation Committee and AK Mota were judges for the poetry recitation competition. The winners of the other competitions, which were held during the month, were also given away the prizes on the occasion. In Hindi Essay Writing Competition, Ramesh Chandra Bhatt, Shubh Lata and Vivek Suri got the first, second and third place, respectively while Sahil Hansa and Rajendra Singh got the consolation prizes. In the Banking Glossary competition, RK Monga, Shubh Lata and Prashant Kumar Verma secured the first, second and third spots respectively while Ramesh Chandra Bhatt got the consolation prize. Vivek Suri, Neha Aggarwal and Shubh Lata were adjudged first, second and third in General Knowledge competition while the consolation spot was clinched by Pintoo Raina and Dev Kumar. The function was compeered and conducted by Jagdish Lal Bangotra, senior Manager (Rajbhasha).
