Passage of Temples & Shrines Bill

JAMMU, Dec 19: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) organised a meeting of the activists and heads of various KP organisations at Bantalab today to decide the agenda of the Chetna Diwas and also the future course of the KP struggle for the passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill.
Trust which has been relentlessly waging the struggle for the passage of the bill that would ensure the protection preservation and reclamation of the age old temples and shrines of Kashmir made it clear that it will take the struggle to logical conclusion.
The meeting was chaired by Prof. A.N. Sadhu and the chairman of the Trust Roshan Lal Pandita also shared the dais.
It said that the Trust has been observing Chetna Diwas for the last three decades and on this day the community speaker lays down the core agenda of the KPs in an elaborate manner. Prior to today’s meeting, events were organised at various places in which a large number of people participated.
In addition to the inputs on the Temples Bill, issues related to the PM package employees and permanent rehabilitation were also taken up by the general public.
Sundri Lal said that the primary agenda of the Trust remains the Passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill. He said that the Trust waged an intensive campaign for the last over a decade and was successful in bringing the bill on the portal of the Assembly.
Prof.A.N.Sadhu said that there is no need to get disheartened. “We need to redouble our efforts and get back to the drawing board and re strategise”. He said that the temples of Kashmir are an inseparable part of our civilization.
Satish Kissu eulogised the role played by late Prem Nath Bhat in creating awareness amongst the KP community regarding the impending dangers in Kashmir and offered supreme sacrifice.
Kuldeep Raina said that the struggle for the passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill has been able to create a global consciousness regarding the condition of the temples in Kashmir.
Chairman Roshan Lal Pandita said that the need of the hour is unity and PNBMT has demonstrated that all parties can come under one banner for the cause if the community.
Dr.Ramesh president Tral Prabandhak Comittee appealed all the community members who are part of the political parties to take up the issue in their own parties.
